Security Solutions – Secure Data Transfers for the Enterprise

Cyberfusion

CFI PLATFORM SERVER: Secure File Transfer across LAN, WAN & the internet offering encryption & security, reliability & guaranteed delivery, management & automation, audit & control. We offer cost saving migration from competitor products such as Connect:Direct which is supported with useful tools. The standard for moving information safely, easily, and quickly from anywhere to anywhere and may be used as part of a VPN, ERP, EAI or ETL software solution for secure file transfers as well as in disaster recovery, data archive, electronic document and record management, backup & restore operations etc (see Uses). Enhanced File Transfer and the various methods of data encryption and management tools offer many advantages when compared to Secure FTP (SFTP) or Secure Shell (SSH). Platform coverage includes all common platforms used in the enterprise today.

Directory Name Initiation (DNI) Feature plus Directory Transfers and Wildcard Support for managed file transfer

Co-existence with other products is possible using ‘Directory Name Initiation (DNI)’ feature

Auto-Pilot File Transfers with DNI

The Directory Name Initiation (DNI) feature allows for simple “Drag and Drop” transferring, and in effect an Auto Pilot switch for CFI operations.  This feature provides for the monitoring of either the creation or modification of a file (LAN) or the creation of a dataset (OS/390) and, when one is detected, the automatic initiation of a transfer.  This is done by setting up a transfer template to be associated with a directory or dataset qualifier.  Sub-directories can also be scanned.

The DNI feature allows an administrator to create a directory on the network and associate that directory with a remote location.  For all files to be sent to that particular remote location, users simply copy files to that directory, and those files are automatically transferred to that remote location.  These transfers can be done immediately, or can be scheduled to take place at a time when the network is less congested.

DNI “Receive”

Sharing data with outside entities introduces security risks, risks that are mitigated by employing a DMZ model.  The demilitarized zone is challenge. Granting outside parties access to corporate systems opens the enterprise up for possible attack. To address this issue, CFI includes a feature that matches a user’s external UserID and password to an internal set of credentials – credentials that remain unknown to that user.  CFI maps these credentials to an internal profile account on the responding side.  This feature allows companies to grant access based solely upon the need for inter-party data transfer, thereby limiting the risk of an outside attack founded on UserID.

Most organizations implement Firewalls to create a Demilitarized Zone – a virtual boundary which controls data traveling in and out of the network. A Demilitarized Zone with Firewall file security policy, typically prohibits files passing into the network through the DMZ – the preferred method is for the file to be pulled into the network. A system operating within the internal network confirms the existence of files in the DMZ Any hole opened is a potential security threat
Their environment is a 3 tiered process for security (DMZ zones that are in use). CFI with DNI Receive initiates a 'pull' process from the TARGET system to get a file from the SOURCE system (upon the creation of a file in the SOURCE system). This can be executed through a firewall.

Directory Transfers and Wildcard Support

CFI users are able to send and receive entire directories and subdirectories, and use wildcards for ease of file selection.  Users may “TEST” their selection before transferring by viewing a print out of all local and remote file names to be transferred in a directory.  If Checkpoint restart is selected and a transfer fails, CFI will restart transfer at the interrupted file, not the entire directory.  Transferring entire directories will not affect normal CFI performance, as files transfer sequentially.

CFI Wildcard support {symbols *,?} allows users to conduct searches for files on Windows, UNIX or OS/390 systems.  Users can try any combination and amount of symbols and alpha numeric characters to narrow down their search for files.  This feature eliminates the need for users to know exact file names.  Wildcarding makes it easy to filter through directories and choose files for transfer.

DNI has a number of additional capabilities associated with it.  These include:
Job Submission: CFI for Windows  will not only watch for these types of transactions and initiate a transfer to a remote system, it will also allow you to associate a particular batch job with the directory and, upon the modification or creation of the file, will submit that batch job to the Windows system.
This is very useful in automating the processing of data just received from a remote system, or any other job management functions.

Disposition: This is the ability to specify the disposition of the file, meaning what should happen to it, once the transfer is successfully completed.  The allowable values are: leave, copy, move and delete.

CyberFusion Integration Suite (CFI)™ for Secure file Transfer.

is a complete suite of enhanced file transfer management  to help ensure compliance, security, control, and integration. The CFI Platform Server and Internet server may be implemented ‘stand alone’ or together to meet corporate requirements and the optional Command Center module provides a central point of control.

CFI INTERNET SERVER: Secure Internet File Transfer enables data to be securely transferred via the internet with easily downloadable Java based browser application. Ideal for secure transfer of data, (including electronic documents & records management – see Uses) between business partners. Information security via SSL & HTTPS (HTTP/S) as well as options for FTP/S, SFTP, FTP, (FTPS, Secure FTP) ensures that data is moved securely through the firewall & the DMZ. Developed in close co-operation with major global enterprises for the needs of today with features required for efficiency & security.

CFI COMMAND CENTER: Centralised control of all data movement module, the Command Center provides a single point of control to manage all enterprise file transfer, inside and outside the enterprise, and across platforms. The Command Center's Web-based interface provides a single view of all file transfer activity, bringing together features and functions including server management, user profiles, alerts, status reports, and audit logs.
